The Agreement has a duration of 5 years and represents all the work carried out by the SIC in order to achieve good partnerships that allow to strengthen its work as an Industrial Property Office.

The Superintendence of Industry and Commerce (SIC), in its role as national authority for the registration of industrial property, signed an Enhanced Cooperation Agreement with the European Patent Office - EPO. 

The recommendation seeks to prioritise the protection of health, life and integrity of consumers over the fulfilment or validation of formal requirements, and to make irrelevant the defence of the exporter who claims not to know the safety requirements at the export destination.

The SIC sanctioned the BANCO DE BOGOTÁ, ALMACENES ÉXITO S.A. and ÉXITO INDUSTRIAS S.A.S. for the violation of personal data of certain citizens in the Colombian territory. The imposed fines amount to COP $569,890,035

Bogotá D.C., 26 de noviembre de 2020. La Superintendencia de Industria y Comercio, en su rol de autoridad nacional de protección de datos personales, ordenó a ZOOM VIDEO COMMUNICATIONS INC. mejorar sus medidas de seguridad para proteger los datos personales y la información de los colombianos.

Bogotá D.C., 23 de noviembre de 2020. La Superintendencia de Industria y Comercio, en su rol de autoridad nacional de protección al consumidor, sancionó a PANAMERICANA LIBRERÍA Y PAPELERÍA S.A. con una multa de QUINIENTOS SETENTA MILLONES QUINIENTOS SETENTA Y UN MIL NOVECIENTOS CINCUENTA PESOS ($570.571.950) por incumplir las normas que regulan la seguridad de producto.
