The Superintendence of Industry and Commerce (SIC) has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Spanish Data Protection Agency (AEPD) to promote closer cooperation between the two parties.

In April of this year, the signing of the MoU between the SIC and the AEPD took place. The main objective of this cooperation agreement is to promote the creation, protection and application of data protection regulations between both institutions; as well as to reinforce the commitment with the Ibero-American Data Protection Network, of which the SIC and the AEPD are members.

La Superintendencia de Industria y Comercio, en su rol de autoridad nacional de protección al consumidor, expidió 14 órdenes a prestadores de servicios turísticos y supermercados del Archipiélago de San Andrés y Providencia para que ajusten sus conductas al régimen especial de turismo y de protección al consumidor.
