The Superintendence of Industry and Commerce (SIC) of Colombia, as National Authority for Personal Data Protection, imposed a sanction of $128.973 USD to the Colombian multinational company ‘RAPPI’, for repeated violations of the personal data protection regime, specifically, for not giving a timely response to multiple requests from users to delete their personal data, or failing to present their prior authorization for using their personal information.
The Superintendence of Industry and Commerce (SIC) of Colombia, as National Authority for Competition Protection, opened an investigation against one company (AVINCO) and three individuals for alleged infractions to the competition protection regime, due to evidence of misconduct in contractual selection processes carried out by the Colombian National Institute of Highways (INVIAS) and the National Tourism Fund (FONTUR).

By ruling of September 16, 2021, the Deputy Superintendence for Jurisdictional Affairs of the Superintendence of Industry and Commerce (SIC) of Colombia resolved the lawsuit against SETEYCO, INVERSIONES CAFI and ACCIÓN SOCIEDAD FIDUCIARIA, after it was demonstrated that those companies did not deliver the promised real estate to the consumers, nor did they deliver the signature of the property deed within 5 years, thus violating the consumer protection regimen regarding legal guarantees, information and contractual protection.
The Superintendence of Industry and Commerce (SIC), in its role as national competition authority, opened an investigation against the companies: PROSAN, SURTIPIEL, AGROSAN, CHARRY TRADING, FRIGOCENTRO and CERCALDAS for allegedly having developed an anticompetitive system in the market for the production, distribution and commercialization of by-products derived from the slaughter of bovines and pigs in different cities of Colombia.
