The Superintendence of Industry and Commerce, as national authority for Consumer Protection and Personal Data Protection, has launched an investigation against CONSTRUIR COMUNDO, for alleged violations of the consumer protection rules and illegal operations of credit through the EASTBAY and POPCASH applications, as follows:
The Superintendence of Industry and Commerce (SIC), as national consumer protection authority, has sanctioned COMUNICACIÓN CELULAR COMCEL (CLARO) with a fine of COP $2,463,000,000 (about USD $556.000), for misleading advertising and confusing users by disseminating incomplete and inaccurate information regarding the discount conditions of the fixed internet plans.
The Superintendence of Industry and Commerce (SIC), as national consumer protection authority, opened an investigation against BRITISH AMERICAN TOBACCO COLOMBIA, INVERSIONES GLU CLOUD, GRUPO DIY and LIFETECH. The SIC alleges that the defendants illegally marketed “e-cigarettes” and “e-liquid” products, that contain nicotine and other substances that harm consumers’ health.

La Superintendencia de Industria y Comercio, en su rol de autoridad nacional de protección al consumidor, actualizó la Circular Única en los capítulos referentes a propinas. Se actualizaron las instrucciones sobre cómo se debe informar a los consumidores acerca de los precios y la voluntariedad de la propina, así como del derecho de no pagarla o de modificar su cuantía si les es sugerida.
