SIC Signs Memorandum of Understanding with AEPD

The Superintendence of Industry and Commerce (SIC) has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Spanish Data Protection Agency (AEPD) to promote closer cooperation between the two parties.

In April of this year, the signing of the MoU between the SIC and the AEPD took place. The main objective of this cooperation agreement is to promote the creation, protection and application of data protection regulations between both institutions; as well as to reinforce the commitment with the Ibero-American Data Protection Network, of which the SIC and the AEPD are members.

For Colombia, as president of the RIPD, it was of vital importance to highlight through the MoU with the AEPD, as Permanent Secretariat of the RIPD, the need to promote mechanisms and actions within the RIPD members in order to achieve greater significance and impact within the network and other international organizations.

This memorandum of understanding has a duration of four years from the date of signature.
