Colombia Strengthens Strategic Communication Capacities in Projects under WIPO’s Development Agenda
The Superintendence of Industry and Commerce (SIC), represented by Nubia Milena Pinzón Ibáñez from the Deputy Superintendency for Industrial Property, participated in the “Regional Training for National Coordinators of Latin American and Caribbean Countries on Communication Techniques for Selected Projects under the Development Agenda,” held in Guatemala City, Guatemala, from September 16 to 20, 2025.
The event, organized by the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), the Government of Guatemala, the Japan Patent Office (JPO), and the Japan Funds-in-Trust for Industrial Property, aimed to strengthen strategic communication capacities in projects related to the WIPO Development Agenda.
During the sessions, participants addressed key topics such as strategic planning, dissemination tools, effective communication, and the role of intellectual property as a driver of development. In addition, they explored innovative tools for project dissemination, including the use of digital platforms, community-based strategies, and creative approaches to engage diverse audiences.
Through SIC’s participation, Colombia strengthened its presence in international spaces for learning and collaboration, reaffirming the role of strategic communication in amplifying the visibility and impact of development-oriented projects.
This initiative underscores SIC’s strong commitment to promoting intellectual property as a catalyst for economic and social development, while advancing communication strategies that amplify the impact of projects for the benefit of communities.
