The Superintendence of Industry and Commerce, in its role as national authority for the protection of personal data, initiated an official and administrative action in order to establish whether or not Facebook complied with the data protection regime.

The Superintendence of Industry and Commerce, in its role as National Authority for Consumer Protection, due to the enforcement actions carried out on AVANTEL S.A.S, the SIC identified some irregularities in the information provided to the consumers in relation to the services offered.

As evidenced and, after noting an impact on the general interest of consumers, the SIC ordered AVANTEL to inform its users through its website, social networks, and its customer service offices, the following information:

●    Esta Superintendencia verificará si Partners Telecom Colombia S.A.S. indujo en error a los consumidores al suministrar información presuntamente carente de claridad, veracidad, suficiencia, verificabilidad, comprensibilidad y precisión sobre la naturaleza, características e identidad de “CLAVOSTAR”, mediante el uso de afirmaciones que podrían generar la idea de que en realidad se trata de un nuevo operador que prestará servicios de telecomunicaciones.
