The Superintendence of Industry and Commerce (SIC), as national authority for the Protection of Personal Data, launched an investigation in order to establish whether the application "ChatGPT", owned by the company OPENAI, complies with Colombian regulations regarding the protection of personal data, which is established in the Statutory Law 1581 of 2012.
Between May 8 and 12, 2023, in Sydney, Australia, the annual ICPEN meeting took place, where international representatives of consumer protection agencies, experts and business actors, among others, met with the main objective of exchanging best practices on consumer protection issues.

The Superintendence of Industry and Commerce SIC, as National Authority of Consumer Protection, opened an investigation to the mobile phone service providers “Comunicación Celular - COMCEL” and Colombia “Telecomunicaciones – Movistar”.
The Superintendence of Industry and Commerce, as national consumer protection authority, through Resolution 23273, sanctioned PROMOTORA CALLE 47, with a fine of 1.508.000.000, (USD $400.00O). Also, PLANO CONSTRUCTIVO will have to pay a fine of $696,000,000 (USD $155.000).
