SIC investigates "Mercadeo y Moda S.A.S." for misleading information and poor-quality support during the after-sales service
The Superintendence of Industry and Commerce (SIC) of Colombia, as National Consumer Protection Authority, imposed a fine of $220,000,000 COP (around $58.000 USD) on MERCADEO Y MODA S.A.S. after finding irregularities in the provision of post-sales services, particularly, for violating the consumers right to receive the products within the established delivery time, through the web pages of “MANGO” and “CHEVIGNON”.
It is important to remind entrepreneurs that the delivery is an inherent element of any purchase of goods and trades that cannot be separated from the marketing and distribution process. Additionally, if the manufacturer or supplier of a good promises up to deliver a product on a certain date, but does not comply the shipment date, it violates the consumer's expectations and consequently their right to receive the product in the stated conditions.
