The Superintendence of Industry and Commerce (SIC) in its role of National Authority for Consumer Protection, lead by the Directorate of Investigations for the Protection of Communications Services Users, through Resolution No. 37740 of July 13, 2020 and after carrying out the corresponding administrative sanctioning procedure established by Law, sanction the company DIRECTV COLOMBIA LTDA., with a fine of $ 728,576,490 COP (aprox. USD$189.179)

The engineer Pedro Pérez Vargas, leader of the Legal Metrology Group of the Superintendence of Industry and Commerce (SIC), was elected with 75% of the votes; as president of the Working Group (MWG) of Legal Metrology of the Inter-American System of Metrology (SIM), a position he will hold until 2023.

There are many and varied topics that the Superintendence of Industry and Commerce offers citizens for virtual training.

In the month of July, the Training Group made it possible for 3,400 citizens to participate virtually in conferences, academic conferences and virtual courses on Industrial Property, Personal Data, Consumer, Legal Metrology and Competition.

The SIC granted an invention patent to the Universidad Autónoma del Caribe for an intelligent heart rate monitor for active athletes that will allow coaches "to make a more objective evaluation of the physical performance of the competitors." The novelty in this device consists in its ability to send information over long distances and that data from several users can be monitored simultaneously by a single person.

This instrument will make it more agile and simple to advance the use of digital services that allow interoperability between the Superintendence of Industry and Commerce and the H. Council of State, this in order to provide an effective solution to the entire chain that derives from the presentation, processing and execution of requests from said Judicial Corporation, thus generating a benefit for users of the administration of justice.

The agreement will be developed in two parts:
