Notable Trademarks in Colombia during 2021

The Superintendence of Industry and Commerce, as National Authority for Industrial Property, declared as “notable trademarks” a total of 134 distinctive signs in 2021, among which are slogans, trade names and trademarks. Many of these identify products and services of daily use in Colombia, for example, in the gastronomy, retail and fashion sectors.

What are notable trademarks?

Well-known brands that are recognized by consumers in a specific sector, and their value lies in the fact that they are associated with a word, color, image, or other factors that, when mentioned, immediately relates to products or services of said brand.

Some factors taken into account by the SIC to declare a notable trademark

• Quantity of sales
• Advertising investment
• Intensity of usage of the trademark
• Awareness of the trademark in the market
